Pentecost is also known as the ‘birthday of the church’ because it is the time when we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit to the early church. The Holy Spirit was poured out on the followers of Jesus, filling them with the courage to go out and spread the good news of his life, death and resurrection. This is a story as powerful today as it was over 2000 years ago!
